BBC Award-winning vocalist, IAN SHAW, returns to the club that played an enormous part in launching his jazz singing career twenty years ago (Ronnie Scott was a big Shaw fan and indeed put together a list of songs from his childhood years for an album "The Echo Of A Song").These four shows will be with his UK trio of Barry Green, piano, Mick Hutton, bass and Dave Ohm, drums.
Known for his eclectic and often daring choice of songs, these gigs will showcase brilliant and brand new arrangements of songs from Shaw's next recording project by the likes of David Bowie, Lionel Bart, Joni Mitchell and George Gershwin, as well as playing songs from Shaw's highly acclaimed 2012 release, "A Ghost In Every Bar - The Lyrics Of Fran Landesman".
Shaw's special guest for these shows will be the firebrand virtuoso Italian trumpeter, Fabrizio Bosso, who earlier in the year was part of a celebration of the US organist, Jimmy Smith, alongside the legendary trombonist, Fred Wesley.
