As Ronnie Scott’s turns 50 this month, the legendary jazz club has invited renowned music painter, Kilford, to join the celebrations by painting one of their October anniversary concerts.
Kilford will be painting for the first time, the live music of legendary reggae guitarist Ernest Ranglin who is playing with Jazz Jamaica at Ronnie Scott's on the evening of 16th October 2009.
Kilford says, "I’ve not painted reggae, ska or jazz live before and I’m really excited by it, not only is Ernest Ranglin an iconic musician but to be painting live at Ronnie Scott’s for their 50th Anniversary, that’s art history being made."
Known as The Music Painter, Kilford sees colours when he hears music and has painted live alongside some of the world's greatest musicians including Robert Plant, Black Eyed Peas, Damon Albarn, Brian Eno and Baaba Maal amongst others.
Kilford will paint live alongside Ernest Ranglin and Jazz Jamaica during their first set which is scheduled to start at 8.15pm and will sketch the second show, starting at 12.00am (midnight).
