In 1959, saxophonist Ronnie Scott opened the door to a small basement club in London’s west end where local musicians could jam. Today, it is one of the world’s most famous jazz clubs attracting packed houses and the biggest names in jazz and popular music and Ronnie Scott’s welcoming, stylish setting is also home to London’s coolest late night hang.
Each night Monday to Saturday, after the main act, Ronnie Scott’s presents the Late Late Show, where some of the UK’s finest jazz talents take to the stage for a late night blowing session.
SHANE FORBES
Shane Forbes is one of the most requested drummer in UK. At the age of 24 he is playing with famous bands and musicians in England and all Europe.
He has won the Jazz Radio Station price (by Yamaha ) as best talented musician. Since three years he is a member of "Empirical", top band in Europe, with whom he won the North Sea Jazz Festival Prize as best new band in 2007.
They are recording for Courtney Pine's Destin-E Records.
Yet so young , he has collaborated with some of the main jazz musicians of the UK jazz scene. Some of them are: Jean Toussaint, Billy Jenkins, Claire Martin, Robert Mitchell, Mike Carr, Soweto Kinch.
