Iain Mackenzie is a singer who comes straight from the Cool School of Frank Sinatra, Nat Cole & Mel Tormé. Iain is the principle male vocalist with our very own Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra, for this lunchtime session, he will be delivering his own tribute to the music of Frank Sinatra, and his buddies. Iain is joined by the renowned Swing City, a slick eight-piece band lead by double bass player and arranger Dave Foster.

IAIN MACKENZIE - BIOG
Iain Mackenzie is a London based singer. Having studied jazz vocals and piano at Leeds College of Music and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, he has gone on to become one of the most in-demand singers in the UK. He works widely as both a lead and session vocalist, recording for TV and film, and performing with world-renowned ensembles, including both the BBC and RTE Big Band and Concert Orchestras. He is the principle male vocalist for the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra and has performed with artists as varied as Sandie Shaw, Joss Stone, Mica Paris, Sophie Ellis Bextor, James Tormé, Imelda May and also has opened the show and performed duets with Susan Boyle on her UK tour. For the past 5 years, Iain has toured the UK with Strictly Come Dancing’s Brendan Cole for all of his spectacular shows.
Iain released his first album ’Twice On Sunday’ on Jazzizit Records in 2007. The album featured the song ‘Sugar’ which was masterfully remixed by Eddie Roberts for his ‘Roughneck’ album. This collaboration fired Iain’s interest in lounge music, and since then he has written and recorded original material with Club Des Belugas, Tape Five, JoJo Effect and Bebo Best. He released his first complete lounge album, ‘Blow Your Horn’ on ChinChin records in May 2015.
